William T. Kearney Jr. “Bill", 90, of Norwich, CT died on September 28, 2021. He was born in Norwich, CT on March 4, 1931 son of the late William T. Kearney Sr. and Marguerite (Keirans) Kearney.
Bill was a graduate of Norwich Free Academy. Bill served his country in the United States Air Force as a radar specialist in Iceland during the Korean War. After his service, he worked for the CT Department of Transportation as a highway engineer for over 35 years. Following retirement, Bill worked at two car dealerships in Norwich for fun due to his love of cars. Bill then moved to Florida for the warm weather but eventually returned to CT to spend more time with his children and his beloved grandchildren. Nothing made him happier than to spend time with his family.
Surviving Bill is his daughter Kathleen (Kearney) Worthington and her husband Andrew of Stonington CT; daughter Maureen (Kearney) LaFlamme and her husband Pete of Norwich CT; son William Kearney III and his wife Sylvie of Waterford CT; son Daniel Kearney of East Hampton CT; a sister Margaret (Kearney) Montano of Farmington, CT and four granddaughters Kearney and Mason Worthington and Allison and Samantha Kearney. Bill was predeceased by his sister Carol (Kearney) Roberts and grandson Peter William LaFlamme.

The family would like to thank the Visiting Angels for the wonderful care they provided for our father at home. A special thank you to Patrick and Martine for their compassionate care. Also a special thanks to his hospice nurse, Nancy Remmert, for the care she provided and all the Hospice staff from the Center for Hospice Care in Norwich.
