Romelle Marjorie Barnett died peacefully on Saturday November 22, 2025. Daughter of Harold and Geraldine Bagshaw, she was born on May 11, 1928 in Gastonia, N.C.
Married to Ray I. Barnett for 57 years, she spent most of her adult life in RI and raised four children; Marjorie, Gerry, Ray Jr. and Thomas Alan. Romelle was predeceased by her husband and both her sons.
She is survived by her daughter Marge Farrell and her often beloved son-in-law, James as well as her daughter who lives in Hawaii with her husband, Bill Childers. She is also survived by her brother Harold Bagshaw of Coventry, R.I. as well as six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and at least two great great grandchildren.
She worked many years for the Coventry Rhode Island School District as an executive secretary.
People who knew her described her as funny, sarcastic, sweet and loving. She was a great cook, a loving mother, daughter, sister, wife and friend.
Special thanks for the car and attention she received from the staff at the former Liberty Hall in Norwich and finally to the staff at St. Joseph Living Center in Windham, CT where she has an impact on everyone she met.
