Robert James Shahan

Robert James Shahan, 81, passed away Monday February 6, 2023 at Pendleton Health and
Rehab.

He was born January 13, 1942 in Norwich, CT the son of David and Ruth (Dupre) Shahan.
Robert was an artist who loved to draw, paint and sing. He particularly loved Irish and bluegrass
music. He grew up in Norwichtown and lived most of his life in his childhood home. He worked
for many years at Electric Boat and was a volunteer firefighter with the Yantic Fire Company.
He is survived by sister Carol Couchman, and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be Tuesday February 14, 2023 from 5 to 7 PM at the Cummings-Gagne
Funeral Home 82 Cliff St. Norwich, CT.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday February 15, 2023 at 11 AM at Sacred Heart
Church 52 West Town St., Norwich with burial to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Norwich.
