Mario P. Gualtieri

Norwich - Mario P. Gualtieri, 94, of Rose Garden Lane passed away Saturday September 12, 2020 at the W. W. Backus Hospital.

He was born May 24, 1926 in Carrara, Italy the son of Simone and Teresa (Torraca) Gualtieri.

Mario came to the United States with his parents in 1933 and was educated in Norwich Schools. Served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in both the Atlantic and Pacific theaters.

Mario and Laura were married February 13, 1947. They had three sons, Ronald, Deno (Shelane) and Mario Jr. (Debra), four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren.

Mario was the president of his construction company for the past 30 years. He was proud to be the District Governor of the Norwich Lions Club and was involved in many various civic organizations.

Calling hours are Wednesday September 16, 2020 from 5 to 7 PM at the Cummings-Gagne Funeral Home 82 Cliff Street Norwich, CT.

A graveside service will be Thursday September 17, 2020 at 11 AM at St. Joseph Cemetery in Norwich.
