Marilyn Louise Krug
December 30, 1948-May 12, 2021


Daughter, sister, cousin, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother…These were the things that were central to the life of Marilyn Krug. Everything else was done in support of these central tenets of her existence. Michelle, Jonathan and Maria, like most children, might say she filled those roles well at times and not well at others, but always they knew they were loved. She left her children and all those she touched with an expanded sense of compassion and empathy. Like most of us she may not have understood that, but she does now, and that is a good thing with which to leave this world of joy and sorrow. Even in death, which was unexpected and sudden, she chose a means that would spare those she loved most the pain and suffering of a lengthy, drawn out illness. These are the things she would have wanted us to remember about her, not that she was a caring school speech pathologist for nearly fifty years, but that she did her best with the tools she had and loved fully. That is all any of us could hope for. That is not too shabby a legacy…to love deeply and to be loved back in return.
