Lucy S. (Pellegrini) Gualtieri

Norwich – Lucy S. Gualtieri, 97, of Norwich passed away Tuesday November 22, 2022 after a brief illness.

She was the loving wife of Albert Gualtieri for 66 years who predeceased her. She was the daughter of the late Emilio and Theresa Pellegrini.

She was born in Sora, Italy and traveling to the United States at the age of 4 in March 1930, entering Brooklyn, New York and settling on Franklin Street, Norwich, within the Italian Community.

She was a homemaker for the better part of her life working for a brief time for Majestic Trousers in Norwich as a seamstress.

She enjoyed family, especially spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, attending their different activities including graduations, sporting events, vacations at the beach, traveling, gardening, cooking, passing down her favorite recipes to her daughters, daughter-in-law, and granddaughters.

She was predeceased by her son Albert.

She is survived by her son, Michael P. Gualtieri and his wife Stacey of Norwich, her daughters Theresa Gualtieri of Norwich, Antoinette McNally and her husband Dan of West Hartford and Mary Ellen Martin of Uncasville. Her grandchildren Erin Asselin and her husband Brian, Megan Speich and her husband Joe, Gabrielle Gualtieri, Vincent Gualtieri and Anthony Martin. Her great grandchildren Andrew and Sammy Speich, Oliver and Ava Asselin.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday December 2, 2022 at 11 AM at Sacred Heart Church 52 West Town St., Norwich with burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association or Hospice.
