Laura Sorina Nagel

Laura Sorina Nagel left this world Monday, May 3rd. 2021 to dance with the love of her life in the presence of the Lord.

Laura was the daughter of the late Ralph and Harriet Thyne, born in Brooklyn, New York October 24, 1925.

In 1945 she traveled cross country to marry her high school sweetheart Sid Nagel in San Diego, Ca. Sid predeceased her in 2005.  Laura was also predeceased by her sister Norma and grandson Ryan.

She leaves behind her sons Ronn (Eileen), Dave (Marlene), grand children Kristen (William), David (Pamela), great grandchildren Sarah, Steven, Jared, Ian and several nieces and a nephew. 

Laura and her husband were realtors and established the Sid Nagel Agency in Norwich. She also worked many years before that for the American Heart Association and the Small Business Administration. 

Known for her kindness, Laura was active in the Norwich Senior center and volunteered to help children with learning disabilities in the Norwich school system.  She was an active member of Saint Mark Lutheran Church in Norwich. She was also a key member of the Norwich Lions. 

A ceremony was held May 12th at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Norwich.  Interment will be at the family’s convenience. 

Donations in her memory be made to St. Mark Lutheran Church in Norwich or Guiding Eyes for the Blind.
