Diane Elaine (Mitchell) Smith, 74, died peacefully at home with her brother, Gary and sister-in-law, Tara by her side on Tuesday, October 4, 2022.
Diane was born March 21,1948 in New London, CT to the late Joseph & Katherine (Romeo) Mitchell.
Diane proudly served her country in the Air Force as a medic during the Vietnam Era.
She lived most her life on the west coast in California. She worked as a machinist for many years at Skyway Recreation Products in Redding, CA. While in retirement, Diane enjoyed watching football, was an avid reality tv fan, watching Big Brother every season. She loved meeting and chatting with friends online.
Diane is survived by her two sons, Michael (Yvonne) Smith and Nicholas (Adrienne) Gurell, 7 Grandchildren, Bailey, James, Ashley, Dustin, Jordan, Taylor, & Nathan. Also, her sister, Kathy Banta, a brother, Gary (Tara) Mitchell. Many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. And her very best friend, Linda " Lou Lou " Thompson.
Diane is predeceased by her husband, Sidney Smith. Two brothers, John & Alan Mitchell. Also, her beloved dog Honey.
