Dale Elizabeth (Senechal) Barile

Dale Elizabeth (Senechal) Barile, 71, of Bozrah passed away Thursday, November 3, 2022 at Yale New Haven Hospital after a courageous 10 year battle with cancer. Dale was a two time transplant recipient of bone marrow and stem cells. She was born in Sanford, Maine, on October 2, 1951, the daughter of Wilfred & Margaret (Henry) Senechal.

Dale was a 1969 graduate of the Norwich Free Academy and received her Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Psychology from Eastern Connecticut State University.

On October 6, 1973, she was united in marriage to Paul J. Barile at the Taftville Congregational Church, just recently celebrating their 49th anniversary. For more than 20 years, Dale and her father owned and ran the House of Prints business in Norwichtown. She then moved on to work at Backus Hospital and L&M Hospital as a unit coordinator for their ICU, CCU, and Emergency Department. Dale was a life member of the Bozrah Volunteer Fire Department, serving many active years as an EMT. In addition to her community, Dale adored her family and friends most of all bringing everyone together to cook for them, and spending her summers at her family homes on Mousam Lake and York Beach, Maine.

In addition to her husband Paul, Dale is survived by her daughter Pamela of Ledyard, her brothers-in-law Nicholas (Jean) and Samuel; her nephews John (Lauren), Nicholas III, Christopher (Nicole), Daniel, and Timothy; and her niece Kimberly. She is also survived by her cousin and “partner in crime” Janet Harjula (Jerry), as well as a large extended family including her life long best friends Linda Cotter and Gale London.

Dale’s family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Mandeep Dhami along with his team at Backus Hospital, Dr. Dennis Cooper as we’ll as his team at Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey, Dr. Stuart Seropian as well as his team at Yale New Haven Hospital, and the many more medical professionals that assisted and supported her through this long battle, especially her donor Enrique ❤️.

Her family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, November 12, 2022 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Cummings-Gagne Funeral Home, 82 Cliff St., Norwich, CT with a service to follow at Noon at the funeral home. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. www.Cummings-GagneFH.com.
