Cecile D. Gagne

Norwich – Cecile D. Gagne, 94, of Harland Road, passed away Thursday December 15, 2022 at Hartford Hospital.

She was born May 23, 1928 in Waterbury, CT the daughter of Lionel and Blanche (Vanase) Du Bois. She was united in marriage to Charles E. Gagne on September 10, 1955 at St. John’s Church in Middlebury, CT. He predeceased her in January of 2019.

Cile graduated from St. Joseph College. She was a member of the Lion’s Club, Rosary Society, Women’s City Club and Couple’s Club of Sts. Peter and Paul.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her son Charles Gagne Jr., three grandchildren Nicholas Gagne, Nicole Ventura, Daniel Ventura III, five brothers Dr. Robert Du Bois, Louis Du Bois, Adm Raymond Du Bois, Earl Du Bois, Dr. George Du Bois, and five sisters May Spignesi, Rita Frigon, Blanche Frigon, Pearl Hammell, and Claire Oemcke.

Cile is survived by six children Rick Gagne, Mark Gagne, David Gagne (Andrea), Ninette (Robert) Aldi, Celeste (John) Hakkinen, Mary (John) O’Donal, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Calling hours will be Wednesday December 21, 2022 from 6 to 8 PM at the Cummings-Gagne Funeral Home 82 Cliff Street Norwich, CT. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday December 22, 2022 at 11 AM at Sacred Heart Church 156 Providence St. Taftville, CT with burial to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
