BRIAN P. MORRISON Brian P. Morrison passed away in Las Vegas on September 16, 2021.
Brian was born on November 27, 1954 in Norwich, Connecticut, the son of John J. and Irene Morrison.
He graduated from St. Bernard Boys' High School in Uncasville, Connecticut in 1972, received his undergraduate degree from the University of Connecticut in 1976 and his Juris Doctorate from Pepperdine University, Malibu, California in 1979. After living in southern California for several years, Brian relocated to Las Vegas where he was a longtime resident.
He enjoyed a varied career that included teaching college level courses at UNLV, acting judge, business ventures, and private law practice. In 2015 he opened a successful tax preparation business and was working right up until the day of his passing. He was an avid reader who enjoyed traveling and made several trips to Europe over the years as well as cross-country trips with his family. Most recently, he toured Viet Nam in 2019. In his younger years, his hobbies also included skiing and sailing. Brian was a true gentleman who was enormously generous to others. Many who knew him sought his council for his deep intellect and keen insight. His quick wit was often sly and always on point.
He treasured several long friendships during his life, including colleague Robert Stovall and Rose Fennick. His premature passing is a tremendous loss for his family and friends. He was predeceased by his father, John, and his beloved Old English Sheepdog, Henry. He is survived by his mother, Irene, his sister Sara, his brother John and sister-in-law Kim; as well as cousins, nieces and extended family.
