Anne F. McGill
Anne was born in Norwich, CT on September 23, 1931, the daughter of Daniel and Mary Ellen (Navin) Falvey. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister Helen Guinan, her brothers Daniel Falvey Jr., John Falvey and Arthur Falvey Sr.
She was married to and is survived by her dearly loved husband of 68 years, James E. McGill. She is survived by their children, Patrick McGill (wife Debra), Cathleen McGill, Terrence McGill (wife Robin), Tara Whitehead (husband David), Noreen McGill-Steadman (husband Webb), James D. McGill (wife Kristi). She is blessed with precious grandchildren and delightful great grandchildren. She is survived by Mary Rita McGill Falvey (sister-in-law) and Frances Chojnacki Falvey (sister-in-law) and beloved nieces and nephews.
Anne graduated from St. Patrick’s School, Norwich Free Academy and St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing. She was a founding member of MRS, LLC (Mothers for Recreational Success) leading a neighborhood organization which restored the swimming area and playground at Mohegan Park in the aftermath of the Flood of 1963. She was involved in St. Patrick’s Cathedral School and Church committees. She enjoyed being a Girl Scout leader.
After James’ retirement, they traveled extensively. Ireland and Aruba were her favorite destinations. She was an amateur photographer. She and James participated in workshops held at sites in the “Wilderness of the West.” She produced stunning images.
A Mass will be celebrated on April 6, 2022 at 10 AM at The Cathedral of St. Patrick, Norwich, CT. There are no calling hours.
