Marie L. Syah

Norwich – Marie L. Syah, 86, of Golden Street passed away Saturday May 6, 2018 at Orchard Grove Nursing Home.

She was born October 15, 1931 in Norwich the daughter of Alphonse and Marie Anne H. (Allore) Coutu.

She worked for many years as a registered nurse having graduated from the William W. Backus Hospital school of nursing in 1958. Shortly after she joined the United States Air Force.

Marie was predeceased by her parents, third son James R. Syah, and first son John (Jay) G. Syah

She is survived by her husband John J. Syah of Norwich, daughter Jane M. Syah of Honolulu, HI, and son Joseph P. Syah and his wife Susan and two grandsons Matthew and Nicholas of New Orleans, LA.

A calling hour will be Saturday May 12, 2018 from 9:45 to 10:45 AM at the Cummings-Gagne Funeral Home 82 Cliff Street Norwich, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Mary’s Church 70 Central Ave Norwich, CT at 11 AM followed by burial in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
