Madeleine T. (Tarrant) Moran

Madeleine T. Moran passed away April 1, 2018 at Backus hospital. She was predeceased by her husband John F. Moran and her daughter Ellen R. Moran.

Her surviving family are her sister Harriet Lane of Boston, her daughter Kathleen Kretschmann and son in-law Peter Kretschmann of Martha’s Vineyard, her grandson Scott Kretschmann and granddaughter in-law Mallory Kretschmann of Boston. Her son Richard Moran, daughter in-law Mary Ann Moran and grandson Chase Moran reside in Norwich.

She was a graduate of St. Patrick’s School, NFA and Eastern Connecticut State College. Her interests included singing with the Cecilia and Senior Choir, enriching girls lives as a girl scout leader and lunching with Red Hats. She was an avid reader. Her employers included New England Telephone Company, Backus Hospital, Norwich State Hospital and the State of Connecticut. She will be missed for her daunting optimism, sunny disposition and selfless generosity. Family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Norwich Library.

Graveside service will be Thursday April 5, 2018 at 12 PM Noon at the chapel in St. Joseph Cemetery Norwich, CT.
