John Joseph Syah, 90, of Golden Street passed away Saturday November 10, 2018 at his home with his loving daughter at his side.
He was born May 26, 1928 in Norwich son of Raphael and Ajjia Syah.
He lived in Norwich all his life growing up at 333 Main Street.
He is a veteran of the United States Army having served in the Korean War. He was a graduate of Bryant College class of 1956 and worked first as an accountant for the American Thread Company in Willimantic, CT. Soon after as a chief accountant for Posi-Seal International in North Stonington, CT. He also enjoyed summers at Latimer Point for 44 years his beach house in Stonington.
He was predeceased by his loving wife Marie Louise Syah and two sons James R. Syah and John G. Syah.
John is survived by his daughter Jane M. Syah, son Joseph P. Syah and his wife Susan and two grandsons Matthew and Nicholas of New Orleans, LA.
A calling hour will be Thursday November 15, 2018 from 9:45 to 10:45 AM at the Cummings-Gagne Funeral Home 82 Cliff Street Norwich, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Mary's Church 70 Central Ave Norwich, CT at 11 AM followed by burial in St. Joseph Cemetery in Norwich.
