George E. Farrah
Brooklyn – George E. Farrah, 92, formally of Norwich died peacefully Saturday May 12, 2018 at Day Kimball Hospital.
He was born July 8, 1925 in Worcester, MA the son of Elias and Adele (Aramony) Farrah.
He was an owner of the F + K Food Market, worked at Plastic Wire and Cable, and was later executive vice president of Atlantic Packaging Corporation in Norwich. George was a veteran with the United States Army serving in WWII. He was an avid golfer playing for many years at both Pautipaug Country Club and the Norwich Golf Course. He has always been faithful to working out and fitness and was on the board of directors at the YMCA. He was also active in many business and community organizations.
George was predeceased by his wife Louise (Soter) Farrah, grandson John E. Wagner, brother Ralph Farrah and sister Ethel Kirby.
He is survived by four children Christine Kolar (spouse Barry) of Sprague, Elias G Farrah (spouse Denise) of Potomac, MD, Constance Farrah of Norwich, Georgeann Munslow (spouse Stan) of Coventry RI, six grandchildren Keleigh, James, Danielle, Michael, Laura, Jane, and five great grandchildren Anna, Jackson, Isabelle, Madelyn and George.
A calling hour will take place Wednesday May 16, 2018 from 11 to 12 Noon at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 247 Washington St. Norwich, CT followed by a funeral service at 12 Noon. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery.
