Norwich – Dennis J. Levander, 65, of Prospect Street passed away Tuesday February 20, 2018.

Dennis was born November 28, 1952 in Norwich the son of the late John and Lorraine (Thuotte) Levander

Dennis was a graduate of NFA. For many years he worked at the Norwich Public Utilities. He was happily married in 1972 to his loving wife Gail for 44 years and was a devoted father and grandfather.

He was predeceased by his wife Gail (Wilczek) Levander, his parents, brother Albert Fontaine, brother-in-law John Wilczek, father-in-law John Wilczek, and stepfather William Briggs.

Dennis is survived by two sons William Levander and his wife Elizabeth of Norwich, Johnathan Levander of Norwich, two grandchildren Takara and Takai Levander both of Norwich, mother-in-law Dorothy Wilczek Briggs, brother-in-law David Wilczek and his wife Lorrel of Taftville, sister-in-law Lisa Carr and her husband George of Norwich, five stepbrothers Jim Briggs and his wife Dianna of NJ, Bill Briggs and his wife Amy of East Lyme,  Joe Briggs and his wife Marie of Oakdale, John Briggs of Norwich, Bob and John Briggs of New London, stepsister Cathy Samokar and her husband Tom of Plainfield, and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with Dennis’s family on Monday, February 26 from 4 to 7 PM at the Cummings-Gagne Funeral Home, 82 Cliff St., Norwich, CT where the funeral will assemble on Tuesday, February 27 at 10 AM followed by a funeral service in Christ Episcopal Church 78 Washington St., Norwich at 11 AM. Interment to follow in Maplewood Cemetery.
