Uncasville – Bertha C. Briggs, 89, of Forest Drive passed away Sunday December 30, 2018 at the W. W. Backus Hospital.

She was born May 29, 1929 in East Providence, RI the daughter of Percy and Hazel (Boss) Sweet.

Bertha was predeceased by her parents and husband George Briggs.

She is survived by son Stephen Briggs and his wife Elizabeth of CT, Robert Briggs and wife Marie of RI, John Briggs, William Briggs and wife Ruth of RI . She also had 7 grandchildren, Alisha, Bianca, Chris, Josh, Gabby, Bill and Katherine. Surviving sister Merle Raley, and predeceased siblings Alvin Sweet, Robert Sweet, William Sweet, Fred Sweet, Edith Olsen, and Nina Sweet.

 Calling hours will be Friday January 4, 2018 from 5 to 7 PM at the Cummings-Gagne Funeral Home 82 Cliff St. Norwich, CT. A funeral service will be Saturday January 5, 2018 at Cummings-Gagne Funeral Home at 11 AM.
