Katherine "Kay" (Dougherty) Longo

Norwich - Katherine Longo, 82, passed away June 30, 2017.
She was born in Norwich, CT on May 13, 1935, the daughter of Walter and Nora Dougherty.
"Kay" was a graduate of Norwich Free Academy and Becker College. She worked as a medical secretary for Dr. Eadie, St. Francis Hospital and Backus Hospital. She was part owner of Longo's Funeral Home with late William Longo.
She was an active member of the Democratic Town Committee, Past President of the Italian Woman's Club, served on the Rose Arts Festival Committee, a member of the Jaycee Wives, CT Council of Catholic Woman and St. Patrick's Cathedral Rosary Society.
Kay was a very generous person and had a wonderful sense of humor. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and friends.
She leaves behind her children - Mary Kay Kelleher and husband Tim, Carol Ann Cormier and husband Eric, Ellen Denis and husband David, William Longo and wife Rose Mary and six grandchildren.

Her family will receive relatives and friends on July 7 from 8:45 AM to 9:45 AM at Cummings-Gagne Funeral Home 82 Cliff St. Norwich followed by Mass at St. Patrick's Cathedral at 10:00 AM.
